Multicoloured candles

I recently tried my hand at some new creations, in the form of multicoloured candles. These are very different to chunk candles; instead of pre-made cubes of wax being deposited into a mould and having new wax of a different colour poured around them, each colour is poured one after the other (after the previous colour has of course been given time to solidify), and the mould is leaned at different angles so that the colours set in various directions.

These have certainly been some of the most enjoyable candles for me to make. The large pillar candles are made by reusing old Pringles tubes, and piercing a hole in the bottom of the canister in which to thread the wick.

I tried the same method with the swirl candle mould and the heart candle mould.

I chose the colours of white, turquoise, orange, green and purple to combine in the candles. As these are not all particularly similar colours, I thought their starkness in comparison to each other would produce an interesting effect.

All of these very unique candles are scented with "Butterscotch Candies" oil (think along the lines of the smell of Werther's), and are currently available from the Rosmerta's Cauldron online shop on Artfire. An Artfire account is not required to make purchases.

Remember that when you buy a Rosmerta's Cauldron candle, either some or all of the price money is donated to Assistance Dog charities, to give disabled people more independent lives.

An Assistance Dog picks up a dropped object.
